QUALIFICATIONS
Specific qualification requirements: A university degree in computer science, physics, electronic engineering, or equivalent. At least three years relevant experience in Linux, Solaris and Windows Fluent English is essential |

INSA is a company specialized in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific
services with more than 40 years of experience working for NASA and 30 years working for ESA. INSA seeks Computer Science Graduates (or equivalent) to work in the European Space Astronomy Centre located near Madrid. This Centre belongs to ESA and will be the current location for this employment. The task is carried out by a group of persons following a shift pattern. The group is responsible of the availability of a very complex Computers infrastructure made up by near 500 machines. Specific tasks to be performed include: · Keep operational the required Computer Systems according to System Operation or System Users manuals · Updating and re-issuing of System Operations Manuals and procedures · Execution of the relevant procedures to keep Computer Systems and its application software in an operational state. Back-up and recovery as required · Monitoring the function and the performance of the different machines, including daily checkouts. Issue and following up of the corresponding hardware and software problem reports · Fault investigation and reporting as required · Monitoring the access and data security related to Computer Systems · Handling and replenishment of the computer systems consumables · Maintenance of activity and event logs for all the systems · Organization and handling of Archive and Software Libraries as required · Ensuring the functionality of the computer rooms and their contents · Maintenance of Configuration Items archive and catalogue · Maintenance of the Archive (Raw Telemetry and auxiliary data). · Handling of public printing services as required · Handling / checking Computer Systems backups .
